Best 'Come Closer' Fragrances for Women

I am usually attracted to fragrances that leave a trail. I noticed because my staple pieces are light citrusy woody fragrances that are usually composed of lighter notes that make them drift easily in the air. These are the types that I'm usually wearing. They are sunny, upbeat, innocent, and very wholesome---harmless to a fault.

However, there are certain moments when I want my fragrance to stay closer to the skin. These are the times when I want the fragrance for JUST for my self; it is one way of limiting the extensions of my personal space. I am just that sometimes. I noticed though that when I wear the softer, quieter fragrances, I defeat my purpose keeping people at a distance. The opposite seems to happen. People are somewhat magnetized and drawn by just the merest hint of the teasing notes of the fragrance I choose to wear; loved ones seem to cross the space and come closer.

I don't achieve this effect with my usually wholesome fragrances. In fact, there is a specific group of fragrances that are very peaceful and quieter in nature. These are the ones that seem to pull people closer and closer.

Here are my picks for the best 'come closer' fragrances.

1. Body Shop White Musk

White musk renders a clean, peaceful feeling to someone who wears it. For me, it is pure and warm at the same time. It is soft yet sensual. Intriguing yet very private. It is a soft tease and never fails to make someone really notice you.

2. Bath and Body Works Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin.

This may be a bit strong on the first spray. Let a few minutes pass and you'll get a fragrance that is mesmerizing and seemingly a bit edible. It truly reminds one of autumn, when it is a perfect excuse to wear sensual fragrances to make one feel warmer and cozier. This spicy blend leaves a subtle smell on the skin and clothes and it's as if the delicate scent  comes from your very skin and not something applied.

3. Victoria's Secret Vanilla Lace

I've always been petrified of the vanilla note until I smelled this one. It smells so like freshly baked angel cookies and it is just pure bliss having it on the skin. It really makes someone come closer and closer...

4. Bvlgari Jasmine Noir

This is a favorite. There is something about it that is very mysterious and personal. When you wear this, people often say "You smell so delectable" instead of "NIce fragrance". The fragrance becomes you and you become the fragrance. It doesn't get any better than that.

5. Bath and Body Works White Cherry Blossoms

A friend gave this one to me in exchanged for my Hot Couture. I was a bit hesitant to use it at first because it does not strike any cord in me. I was actually indifferent about it until one funny moment. I bumped into a guy friend (who I really liked) on the third floor of our building near the stairs. He was on the way up and I'm on my way down. What happened next was that he started following me all the way down. He realized it later that he was actually in a hurry and that he got a bit lost for a few minutes because he thought I smell like Garden Eden. It works.

6. Chanel Allure

I've sprayed a bit of this on my hair during my Chemistry class and my seatmate nearly unseated himself because he kept of leaning on my direction. I barely noticed it though until  our Professor called his attention. Allure is an oriental vanillic fragrance and is very soft and feminine. Actually it is the peachier, more luxurious version of Benetton Hot. So if you think this is a bit pricey, you may use Hot instead. Personally though, I love Allure.

7. Bvlgari Au the Blanc

This warrants a place in my list because it makes everyone enchanted by its sexy yet subtle scent. You have to be really close to smell it and when the fragrance is slightly warmed by the skin, all the precious notes come through in a perfectly orchestrated manner. It only has a few ingredients such as white pepper, white tea, and ambergris but no single note stands out. It's as if they work together to become a collective, beautifully mixed concoction.

8. Kenzo L' Eau Par

This is perhaps the fragrance that had managed to seduce everyone I come across. It is a watery light fruity floral that is so addictive yet peaceful. Use it when you just want a peaceful easy feeling to surround you. It is so charmingly beautiful you can use it day and night. It greatly appears to everyone.
